Operation Twelve is a non-profit research organization dedicated to exploring the impact of tumultuous events such as explosions, warfare, and political turmoil on communities and individuals, with a focus on the Middle East. Our mission is to understand how people cope and adapt in the face of these challenging circumstances, and we believe that empowering undergraduate students is key to achieving this goal.

About the Position:

As an IT Systems Administrator intern, you will be responsible for managing the organization's technology infrastructure and ensuring that it runs smoothly. You will be expected to provide technical support, maintain hardware and software, and troubleshoot issues that arise. You will also be responsible for ensuring that the organization's data is secure and protected.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage and maintain the organization's technology infrastructure
  • Provide technical support to staff and volunteers
  • Troubleshoot issues that arise with hardware and software
  • Ensure the security and protection of the organization's data
  • Maintain accurate documentation of IT systems and processes
  • Research and recommend new technology solutions to improve organizational efficiency

Requirements:
  • While there are no specific educational requirements for this position, having a bachelor's or master's degree in computer science, information technology, or a related field would be beneficial.
  • At least 1 year of experience in IT system administration or a related field
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong knowledge of networking, security, and operating systems
  • Familiarity with cloud-based services such as AWS or Azure is a plus

Note:

This is an unpaid internship position. The intern will work remotely and will need to have access to their own computer and internet connection. The intern will work closely with the IT team and will have the opportunity to learn about technology infrastructure management in a non-profit setting.
